BridgePay Gateway Service Issues (Resolved)

    Today between 1:14 pm and 1:41 pm ET, BridgePay experienced a complex network failure between our primary and secondary locations causing the inability for merchants to connect to the gateway. The network issues also prevented automatic notification to our status page, and prevented us from failing over between sites. Our Network Operations team was able to stabilize the issue and all transactions are processing to the gateway properly. 

    Network Operations is reviewing the root cause of this issue to ensure safeguards are put in place to prevent this from occurring again.

    We have received communication from BridgePay that their gateway service is currently experiencing issues. Below is the text of the email. We have no further information as to the cause or estimated time of service restoration. As we receive updates we will inform you.

Payment Gateway Outage [RESOLVED] (Resolved)

  • UPDATE: As of 2pm Pacific, this issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

    We have been advised by BridgePay, our credit card gateway provider, that gateway services have been interrupted due to a nationwide DNS service outage. This outage is not under the control of BridgePay, but they are monitoring the issue.

    Our research indicates that this outage is the result of a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) that took down a big chunk of the Internet for most of the Eastern seaboard. For more information please see the following article: https://www.wired.com/2016/10/internet-outage-ddos-dns-dyn/

    Your gateway service will resume once this outage is mitigated by the DNS providers.

    We have received emergency communications from our gateway partner, BridgePay, that card processing services are intermittently failing. Please see the below notice. As we receive more information we will pass it on to our customers.

     

     

    Dear Customers,

    We are receiving numerous calls into our Gateway Support from merchants experiencing processing issues. The gateway is still receiving and processing transactions intermittently and our IT team is working on resolving the response times as quickly as possible.

Database Server Update (Resolved)

  • We will be performing an update to one of our database servers on July 22nd between 4:00 and 4:30 AM, ET. This update will require rebooting the server which will affect connectivity for some customers. The outage is scheduled to last no more than 5 minutes. Please advise any staff working during this time that they may experience a brief period where they cannot connect to StoreTender servers.

Integrated Payment Gateway Maintenance (Resolved)

  • We have been advised by BridgePay that they will be performing gateway maintenance that will cause a brief interruption of integrated payment service (2-5 minutes) on Monday, July 20th, between 3 am - 6 am ET. Please see the complete notice from BridgePay below.


    Maintenance Announcement for Monday July 20th

    BridgePay is committed to providing our client partners the best solutions possible. To ensure we are meeting this goal, we perform maintenance and incorporate new capabilities on a regular basis. On Monday, July 20th, between 3 am - 6 am ET, BridgePay will be upgrading the core switching to add additional capacity to our existing infrastructure. This upgrade requires a full system reboot that will result in an outage lasting between 2-5 minutes during the scheduled maintenance window while the maintenance is performed.

    What connections will be affected?

    All gateway connections into the BridgePay Gateway and PathwayLINK (TGate Gateway) will be affected.

    Will there be an outage?

    Yes. We expect a maximum outage time of 5 minutes. During this time, transactions will not be able to process through the gateway. 

    Will there be multiple outages during the maintenance window?

    No. We do not expect the need for multiple outages.

    Will settlement be affected?

    Settlement will be paused until the maintenance is complete and then processed as normal.

    Our 24/7 Gateway Support phone queue will have a message regarding the maintenance making partners and merchants aware of the maintenance should they contact Support because they are unable to process or settle. They will be advised the outage should last only 2-5 minutes and then be able to transact.

  • We are pleased to announce that the StoreTender servers are moving to a brand new state-of-the-art data center featuring:

     

    • Upgraded network topology, capacity, and throughput
    • Upgraded storage network and capacity
    • Upgraded redundancy and availability options
    • Enterprise-class security
    • State-of-the-art on-site NOC staffed 24/7/365

     

    In order to better serve you, we will be moving our servers to the new facility. On October 24, 2014, we will initiate a maintenance window for this from 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM CST to perform the move. During this timeframe, the StoreTender servers will be offline for approximately 4 hours. We have conducted substantial planning and preparation to keep this downtime to a minimum.

  • Earlier today there was a network outage that affected some of our customers. Below is the explanation of the outage from our datacenter provider:

    We have confirmed stability to the network since the offending targets have been nullrouted. We will release an RFO on the event as soon as possible. Should you still be experiencing issues, please contact our support team immediately. Thank you.

    We had experienced an impacting network event in the Chicago Data Center, caused by an extremely large DDoS attack. The targets have been nullrouted and we are working to gather more information about this event. At this time, services should be completely restored. More information will follow soon.
